517 is an independent record label founded with the aim of providing a warm, professional and uncompromising home for alternative artists.

The label was founded in southern Israel, out of a recognition that the local scene is alive with talent that needs the infrastructure to support it, develop it, and bring it to audiences in the right way. Alongside the musical work itself, we provide our artists with professional and managerial support that allows them to focus on what matters most - the work itself - while helping find the ways in which their music can reach new ears.

We do not operate within a specific genre, nor according to a commercial formula. We look for music with a voice, a point of view and an identity; work that comes from a genuine need to say something.

We work with a limited number of artists, and because every release receives a deep investment of time, thought and resources, we carefully choose the projects we believe in and want to be partners in for the long term.

We believe it is possible to build a musical career outside the axis of power, money and interests, and that music should not be measured solely by playlists, numbers and algorithms. For us, the role of a label is not simply to release music - but to listen to it, understand it, build the right framework around it, and help it find its way to the people who need to hear it.

We still believe in things you can hold in your hands - in albums, physical editions, and musical objects that have a life beyond the screen.
